Sharing Ideas From Across The World
In August it was The National Allotment Society’s turn to host the ‘International Federation of Allotment Gardeners’ (Fédération Internationale des Jardins Familiaux) meeting in Cambridge.
This annual event allows allotment societies from across the Europe
to attend lectures, study sessions
and partake in discussions, with the purpose of sharing best practice, learnings and international approaches.
But it wasn’t just all work and no
play. Candidates visited a Cambridge allotment site, went on a punting tour of the River Cam, visited the Cambridge Botanical Gardens and enjoyed afternoon tea at Carriages – an English café set in a 1920s train carriage.
