Hedge End allotments celebrated their Centenary 1922 - 2022 on Sunday 16th October 2022, the date when Hedge End Town Council agreed to purchase the land from Mrs Campbell from the Thornhill Estate in Southampton.
The centenary event was organised by Hedge End Allotment Association with the support of Hedge End Town Council, helping to make this an enjoyable, memorable and historic event.
A great afternoon,
with people coming
together, past and
current allotmenteers, to celebrate our allotment centenary by sharing
some food and listening
to music spanning the
years from 1922 - 2022.
The weather held off... just about!
It was a pleasure to have the presence of Cllr Jane Welsh, Cllr Cliff Morris who unveiled the commemorative plaque
and cut the centenary cake and the Marketing Manager, Sue Flattery, who took details for the local Gazette. Hedge End Allotment Centenary featured in the local Gazette, winter edition 2022.
A very memorable event and one we feel lucky we were given the opportunity by Hedge End Town Council to be part of.
