and conclusiveness sat like a pit in our stomachs as we trudged the last few hours to Dingboche from Nuptse BC. We tried to fill the hole with numerous coffees and cakes at the various coffee shops around Dingboche, but to no avail. We finished the expedition and had completed all our tasks one way or another, but the ordeal wasn’t over. We had to wait 4 more days to be recovered by the MI17.

all those who organised such a moving service: Gurkhas, Royal Engineers, the Nepal Army who flew in supplies, the medic, the padre, the porters, the stone masons, the climbers and all those who provided the administration and funds to make it happen.
