Thrapston and Raunds
For Rotary Clubs, July represented the start of a New Year. It is the time when the outgoing Club President hands over to the new one for the following year.
In our case it gave members
a chance to thank Mike Turner
for all his work. It was a very
challenging period when, at
times, both meetings in person
and organising activities was
difficult. Despite all the challenges
caused by Covid, Mike has been
congratulated for what was achieved under his leadership. Now it is the turn of Bob Davey (pictured here) to be President and we all wish him well for the coming Rotary Year. We are looking forward to a new programme of charity
fundraising and support, guest speakers and social events.
Members continue to be as active as possible and, for example, were represented at the Charter Fair when takings on the club
stall and donations totalled £393. Thank you to everyone who supported the stall. Members have also been active helping the charity Sailability at Grafham Water. Club members assist disabled sailors by helping set up the boats. Members offer the sailors assistance to get
into the boats and then wade into the water to launch or retrieve the boats.
