PRESIDENT’S FAREWELL
Maj Gen David Southall CBE
The last couple of years have passed in what seems like a blink of an eye. Memories of Covid constraints are now fading fast, but replaced by new challenges and oppor- tunities, both professionally and personally, for all our serving Army personnel.
Whilst change is constant, some things endure, namely that people remain the heart of our Army. Supporting our people, keeping them motivated, engaged and committed requires us to invest broadly. In this arena, sport and adventurous training has always played an important part and I am very proud of the AMA’s contribution over many years. From sport climbing to moun- taineering and ski touring, the AMA has delivered challenging, rewarding and above all, fulfilling and fun activities for all.
Change is constant for us all too and, as I now complete my 33 years of regular service, I would like to thank your Chair, Liz Dallyn and her committee for their exceptional hard graft; they richly deserve our thanks and gratitude for all they do. I would also wish to offer my warmest welcome to your new President, Brigadier Adam and I very much look forward to seeing you in the hills in the years ahead.
MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY FOREWORD
After the delivery of each journal edition, I receive phone calls and emails from members who have not received their copy. This is usually due to members’ details not being correct or up-to-date in our database. Unfortu- nately, a member calling the office or emailing me is the only way I am able to update such information and so I rely on you letting me know. If I am informed, I can make any changes necessary to the details we hold such as your home address and e-mail etc.; all you need to do is drop me an e-mail to the address below. Alternatively, you can log in to your tahdah account and make the relevant changes yourself. If you require any assistance with your tahdah account please let me know. Furthermore, if you have any additional tahdah accounts (MT, MTA, AMI), I am able to get these merged so that you only need to log in once.
The office hours are Monday to Thursday 9.00am to 15.45pm.
