GIRLGUIDING
Oundle and Polebrook
Girlguiding has been a part of Oundle life
for over 100 years. The girls and the badges may have changed over the years but the Girlguiding ethos of helping all girls know they can do anything, has remained the same.
In Oundle we are lucky to have a thriving Brownies and Guide unit and a Brownies unit in Polebrook. We were over the moon when
a couple of new volunteers stepped in to get Polebrook Brownies back up and running
after Covid. The unit has grown in numbers; the girls love their time there and our newest volunteer has just completed their leadership qualification. We would love to repeat this success by getting the Rainbows unit in Oundle back up and running as well, but to do this we desperately need some more volunteers.
By volunteering with Girlguiding you’ll
be helping girls build their confidence, have adventures and learn new skills. It doesn’t matter what your experience or background is, or how much time you have. Volunteering for Girlguiding is a great way of meeting new people and taking a break from your daily routine. Anyone can volunteer and there’s no requirement to have been involved in guiding before. Parents looking to volunteer at their
local unit could join a parent rota or help share a skill or passion. We also welcome students and teenagers looking for a volunteer opportunity to build their CV and develop skills for the future.
