A & R Companies – The Ops Cycle
In the last six months, the Bn has seen a noticeable increase in our overseas activity as both R and A Companies have expanded our footprint and network of partners in the Middle East and Indo-Pacific. R Company have overseen the start of several new and exciting operational tasks
in the Middle East, while A Company have made a great impact alongside important allies such as the US and Republic of Korea in the Indo-Pacific.
Over the course of their six-month operations cycle, Representative
Coy deployed almost the entire company on a range of operations
in the Middle East enhancing our ability to operate in challenging environments, expand our network of regional partners and improve our understanding of the key issues facing the region. The deployments, which are now persistent, included work with partners in Jordan, Lebanon and the wider region seeking to enhance their our ability to work with partners against shared problem sets such as terrorism, narcotics and other causes of instability.
Rangers from A Coy recently deployed to observe EX FREEDOM SHIELD 23 in the Republic of Korea.
This joint exercise saw members of the Coy deploy alongside the US Green Berets and Republic of Korea Special Operations Forces to develop both unconventional warfare tactics and refine our role in large-scale combat operations (LSCO). Whilst deployed, members from A Coy visited the Joint Security Area within the Demilitarization Zone hosted by Dept United Nations Commander Lt General Harrison.
The coming months promise to be no less interesting and challenging as R Coy deploy to Hawaii alongside our US Special Forces colleagues to take part in a large multi-national exercise that will continue to develop The Ranger’s warfighting role. This is an exciting opportunity for all involved that will see us increasing interoperability with our key partners in a spectacular location. Further
