Chicksands Archery Club
Over the last year the archery club has de nitely gone from strength to strength, with the married quarters being on camp we have a very good following from the senior and junior members of the unit. The club meets every Wednesday 17.00 - 20.00 at the gymnasium during the winter months and on the Priory green during the summer. As a team we have now established ourselves with 4 members ghting for a place in the Army Archery Team who, shoot regularly around the country in various competitions both military and civilian. The next stage is to deliver beginner courses to our members that will allow them to be able to shoot at other clubs which is in line with Archery GB rule of shooting. All equipment is provided and each shooter is given the best possible guidance and coaching needed to make them better

Christmas Turkey Trot
The PT staff at JITG Chicksands organised a Turkey Trot on 15 Dec 15. Over 200 personnel from Chicksands braved the cold December morning in festive fancy dress. They all managed to complete the 3km run around camp and the Priory, with most managing to catch the turkey. Male and female winners received festive prizes, as did the best fancy dress. All present raised £190 and over £500 in food donations, which were given to Bedford Foodbank.
Bedford Foodbank is a local charity that helps those in need. Over the festive period this involved making hundreds of Christmas food parcels. Employees from the charity were then invited to JITG Chicksands to receive their cheque from DCOS, who also delivered a guided tour of the camp and the grade 1 listed priory. JITG Chicksands hopes to continue work with this charity and to help people in the local community.
