some of the paperwork or even a bit of both. The involvement itself gives a great deal of satisfaction. I was very fortunate to be in a position to be involved when, as many will recall, Philip Holmes founded his charity, starting as treasurer and fundraiser. I was immensely proud to be asked by Philip to be one of his initial trustees. Other crazy ideas have been numerous marathons
and half-marathons, including 2 London
Fun Runs, Tough Mudder challenges and some more minor efforts have given lasting memories and great enjoyment. I have also attempted where possible to support, garner and encourage support for many others on their charitable endeavours for worthy and deserving causes.
John, thank you for chatting to me. It has been fascinating and we have hardly touched
the surface and certainly missed out on some jolly jape stories best left of course to protect the very grateful innocents. I feel sure there are many out there who would join me to say thank you so much for your dedication and service to our Corps and many individuals through your work, mentoring and personal commitment. We all wish you a very long and enjoyable retirement but don’t be a stranger as we will miss the raconteur at his best.
