Treatment of concussion
• If they are responsive, rest them by sitting them down, or lying them down with their head raised, or place them in the recovery position if they are unsteady
• Keep them warm and keep talking to them
• If they are unconscious and breathing normally, place them in the recovery position
• Monitor their airway, breathing and response levels
• If they are unconscious for more than 3 minutes, you must call for an ambulance
• You must recommend that they seek medical advice, particularly if they develop a headache, feel sick or they sleep more than would normally do
