OUTREACH AND WORKSHOPS
The GVBTWS participated in several outreach events in 2016. These events are an opportunity to promote the health bene ts of cycling, displace common misconceptions about barriers to cycling, provide education around basic tra c safety, and to support other cycling events in the region.
Outreach events in 2016 include MEC Bike Fest, Saanich Cycling Festival, CFB Family Fun Day, the Play in the Park series, and Pop-up Celebration Stations through the winter and in the lead up to BTWW.
The GVBTWS also partnered with the District of Saanich to provide basic bike mechanics workshops at the Bike Kitchens around Saanich.
