Investing in Leadership to Grow Michigan’s Farm & Food Connections
Leadership to grow Michigan’s farm and food connection is the focus of the Michigan Foundation for Agriculture. Sixty-six percent of Michigan citizens haven’t been on a farm in the last seven years, heightening the importance of consumer education and the farm-to-food connection.
This Foundation, a 501(c)(3) formed by Michigan Farm Bureau, has a mission of positively contributing to the future of Michigan agriculture through leadership and educational programming.
Agriculture in the Classroom
Prides itself on telling the story of Michigan agriculture and its importance to the state of Michigan, correcting misconceptions about the agriculture industry, while connecting teachers and students to their source of food.

Young Farmers
Develops agriculture’s current and future leaders by providing opportunities to learn about the issues that directly impact their lives.

Leadership Development
Provides an in-depth agricultural leadership training program for farmers across the state while providing leadership development and support to 4-H and
FFA programs.
FARM Science Lab
The FARM Science Lab is a 40-foot mobile classroom, equipped with the latest teaching technologies and STEM-based lessons that meet Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and National Agricultural Literacy Outcomes (NALO) to increase agricultural awareness. Staffed with a certified teacher, the FARM Science Lab helps reinforce grade-level standards with hands-on science experiments while increasing students’ knowledge of how agriculture impacts their daily lives.
