SCHOOL BUS
The intent of the HMA School Bus Tours is to enable all students to experience the wide range of manufacturers in Huron County. It is important for our students to understand that they do not have to leave their hometown area to do the things they dream about!
DAY
1
Students from Goderich District Collegiate Institute toured Everspring Farms Ltd in Seaforth to discover what is involved in sprouting 35 different grains, seeds and beans available as whole seeds, powders/flours, or blends.
The afternoon tour for GDCI was of Epps Products in Clinton where students learned about the crafts involved at Canada’s largest full-line manufacturers of high pressure cleaning equipment.
South Huron District High School at McCann Redi-Mix of Dashwood. The host manufacturer jumped on the school bus and took the class
to a site close by where they learned about this industry including a wide variety of services from concrete construction, excavation, aggregates, and draglining.
The second tour took this class to Cos Phi PFC in Hensall. Students were lucky enough to see how the power factor correction bank (PFC)
is certainly a power efficiency device, which reduces line-losses and reduces the kVA load between the electric utility and end-user.
