THE THEME
This year, Solstice’s staff chose “monumental” to be our theme. In choosing monumen-
tal, our hope was to challenge ourselves by creating a less abstract book than years
previous and to attempt a new design style, calling on the styles of ancient architecture and grand museums. We believe that every
student’s work is monumental, and that it is our job as a magazine to display it as such.
Though the artwork and writing in this magazine were not necessarily chosen to fit the theme, we encourage our readers to
look for connections in the pieces.
