Today she is exploring 360-degree photography, which she’s also exhibited around South Africa. In DC she wants her viewers to walk away with a gift, footprints that will stay with them because she doesn’t want it to be just another image.
Fine artist Bongi Bengu’s work is bold and stark. Her new work will also tackle empowerment to complement her work on disempowerment. The transformation will show what she calls “an interesting tension” between her earlier work and her new work.
“As a black woman and an African woman my work has always been about my journey, my personal journey,” Bengu said.
