Out-of-Pocket Expenses
Out-of-pocket expenses are typically higher when you use healthcare services other than preventive care. Plan members must meet their deductible before any benefits are payable for non-preventive care services. When the deductible is met, the employee pays co-insurance until the out-of-pocket maximum is met.
Out-of-pocket expenses are typically lower for services
other than preventive care. Copays (with no deductible) apply to many covered services. The deductibles are lower and apply to a limited number of received services, such as hospitalization, outpatient surgery and sophisticated diagnostic services (e.g., MRI and CT scans).
