FOCUS ON ART
Another regular feature will be a focus on the artistic talent of our students. Mia Taylor’s sketch of a ‘can’ really stood out on Facebook last week so
we asked her about her love of art.
This is an example of an ‘initial ideas’ board which I make at the beginning of every project. It consists of photography and artist research together with examples of my own work.
My name is Mia Taylor and I am a Y10 GCSE Art student. I chose to take art at GCSE as I love the level of creativity that it offers; I would like to be a Designer when I’m older.
My favourite media is Biro, as you can create lots of fine details as well as smoothly blend the colours. Depending on how big my art piece is, I usually spend around 2-4 hours on a piece and sometimes I work on it over a few days.
One of my favourite artists is Dilleen Marsh as she creates intricate paintings that each tell a story.
