SBI Sanjeevani Clinic on Wheels
The ACRD with the support of the State Bank of India Foundation (SBIF), Mumbai, has been implementing the "SBI
Sanjeevani Clinic on Wheels," covering40 remote villages of Baksa and Tamulpur districts in Assam, since March 2023.
The project is aimed at providing preliminary healthcare services through two Mobile Medical Units (MMU) or Outpatient
Department (OPD) vans reaching out to over 20,000 people living in remote and inaccessible areas of Baksa and Tamulpur.
The project has been co-funded by National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) and SBI Mutual Funds. Each OPD van is
equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities, and a medical team comprising of doctor, lab technician, pharmacist and
a health assistant –cum-driver for providing both preventive & curative health services along with diagnostic and referrals.
Since From March 2023 – February 2024, the Sanjeevani Mobile OPD vans have catered to 20,352 beneficiaries. Regular
specialized health camps in collaboration with the Indian Medical Association, Assam State Branch; GNRC Hospital
Guwahati; Guwahati Eye Centre; Lions Eye Hospital Guwahati; Biswabahu Foundation; NEMCARE Hospital Guwahati;
BEYOND
Sarathi Hospital, Nalbari; etc were conducted. Awareness programmes such as rallies, street plays, art competitions in
schools, and Swacch Bharat initiatives such as distribution of dustbins in public places and wall paintings, etc were also done
to spread awareness and address the healthcare needs of the rural communities in the remote villages.
MOBILITY
From March 2024, the Sanjeevani Mobile OPD vans are reaching out to more than 10,000 beneficiaries in the two districts.
