Every detail of the 24,000 hotel rooms in Grupo Posadas’s portfolio of properties is carefully crafted to help the hotel chain’s customers relax. In the company’s boardroom, though, the aspirations are anything but relaxed. Already Mexico’s largest hotel company, Posadas aims to double its number of properties from 150 to 300 by 2020. To do so, it will rely on the philosophy of hard work and customer satisfaction that has fueled the company’s growth since its founding in 1967.
Distinct destinations
Posadas has seven hotel brands, each with its own carefully crafted theme and target audience. The properties range from three-star to five-star and from downtown to middle of the jungle. High-end travelers will enjoy the amenities at Fiesta Americana hotels and the brand’s luxury sibling, Grand Fiesta Americana, in some of Mexico’s poshest resort cities, like Cancún, Guadalajara, and Monterrey Valle.
Posadas’s lifestyle brand, Live Aqua, was built around the five senses, incorporating haute cuisine, gorgeous views, entertainment, and other top-shelf features. Travelers seeking soft adventure flock to The Explorean, a brand that blends luxury and nature, catering to a changing 21st-century tourist demographic. The Explorean Kohunlich, for example, takes travelers deep into the Mayan rainforest for a once-in-a-lifetime vacation experience. Gamma Hoteles are designed to take on the look and feel of their locales and provide easy access to local hot spots for travelers needing a home base.
For professionals, Posadas offers Fiesta Inn, complete with a “business class” package of services. Posadas has seen tremendous success in its business travel and meetings segment, having built up one of the top convention, meeting, and incentives programs in Mexico. Finally, for travelers looking for practicality, Posadas’s One Hoteles are designed to offer a restful stopping point and efficient service for a wallet-friendly price.
Booming business
That diverse portfolio of brands will serve as the cornerstone for Posadas’s projected rapid growth in the coming years. The company had been opening one new property each month recently, but that pace will greatly accelerate as the company pushes to meet its vision of 300 hotels by 2020.
Posadas has routinely been recognized as a corporate leader by several top organizations and publications. The company has been named a Socially Responsible Company by Cemefi three separate times. It was the top hospitality company in Merco Empresas y Lideres’ 2013 Best Companies in Mexico list. In 2017, it was named the eighth-best place to work in Mexico, according to Great Place to Work. Perhaps it is no surprise, then, that Posadas considers “good moods” to be one of its key corporate values. The company employs more than 15,000 workers across its hotels and corporate offices.
Posadas believes its growth should benefit not only the company, but also the Mexican tourism industry. The company’s leaders see passion and hard work as the lifeblood of its success, and they draw a direct connection between amazing travel experiences for customers and the company’s own ambition for amazing growth.
