Beyond the planning and engineering stages, the company also supplies the necessary equipment for the successful execution of a project, with both sales and leasing plans. Equipment supply can include managing payment processing, transporting equipment to a site, mechanical installation, testing and setting up equipment, and training operational staff. This last step is particularly important to ensure the proper operation and maintenance of equipment. If required, Rengen Energy Solutions can also provide ongoing equipment operation and/or maintenance services.
Across the board
Because energy comes from a variety of sources, EPC companies must be able to operate in multiple scenarios. In the hydrocarbons sector, Rengen has participated in several projects, including both gases and liquids, ranging from compression and pumping systems to chemical processes such as refining. For more than 40 years, it has also served the drilling industry in Mexico, providing logistical and procurement services.
In the energy and water sector, projects include engineering procurement, construction, operation, and maintenance of power plants. The company has constructed water treatment plants and has been involved in the dredging of wells. Using the latest technology, Rengen addresses loads, voltages, pollutant emissions, and fuel types. Its portfolio of energy projects adds up to more than 450 MW total installed and continues to grow.
Blue-ribbon standards
Indicative of its commitment to quality, Rengen carries a number of ISO certificates, including ISO 9001, the international standard for a quality management system; ISO 14001, for environmental management systems; and ISO 18001, for occupational, health, and safety management. In addition, its offices are LEED-certified. Because of its many international clients and alliances, the company is committed to transparent business practices. It has been certified by TRACE, indicating that it has been “pre-vetted” by the international anti-bribery entity.
Delivering global solutions
Strategic partnerships with eight highly reputable companies allow the EPC expert to offer high-quality solutions to a wide variety of energy industry challenges. Allen-Sherman-Hoff is renowned as the world’s premier supplier of ash-handling equipment. The Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group manufactures the most advanced boilers and steam generation equipment, emissions control systems, and power plants. HPI Controls offers a range of engineering, maintenance, and upgrade of all control systems, while MTU Maintenance is a worldwide leader in the repair and overhaul of the LM series of GE gas industrial turbines. Powerphase develops and commercializes products to increase the efficiency and capacity of gas turbines. Chromalox develops thermal technologies for heating applications, and Vericor Power Systems manufactures, sells, and supports aero-derivative gas turbines.
Rounding out the strategic partnership list is PW Power Systems, Inc. (PWPS). PWPS has leveraged the advanced technology of Pratt & Whitney’s proven aircraft engines and uniquely applied it to complex power system solutions, becoming a leader in power generation. The company has a large array of product lines and services, including industrial gas turbine engines, aftermarket services, and repairs. Rengen represents PW Power Systems, Inc., within Mexico, Guatemala, and Panama.
Rengen counts Pemex, Mexico’s state-owned oil company, and CFE, Mexico’s federal electricity commission, among its clients. Since the launch of wide-ranging reforms across the Mexican energy sector in 2013, which opened the market to new players, it has also attracted several private-sector companies as clients.
With its place in the Mexican market well established, Rengen has expanded across Central and South America. The company now has offices in Panama, Trinidad and Tobago, and Argentina and is intent on taking on projects across the region. It is also considering moving into the United States. Today, thanks to its decades of involvement across the EPC industry, Rengen has the depth and breadth of experience to meet the diverse energy needs of clients throughout the region.
Rengen is firmly positioned in the oil and gas and energy sector of Mexico. We started over 40 years ago as an engineering company and have grown constantly ever since. Our growth has been both vertical and horizontal, including manufacturing of equipment and parts. Today we are proud to be leaders in the market, offering integrated and full EPC services. —Oscar Scolari R., President
