Focused on innovation and quality, Cotemar is a 100 percent Mexican-owned corporation with nearly four decades of experience servicing Mexico’s state-owned energy sector. The company looks to the future with excitement as energy reforms open up oil and gas exploration and production (E&P) to private entities.
Cotemar relies on efficiency, advanced technology, and its highly skilled workforce to provide a number of supportive services to the E&P industry, from logistics to managing complex offshore major projects like gas compression and oil and water separation. It has amassed a reputation for efficiency, safe practices, and an experienced workforce.
Establishing sea legs
In 1979, Cotemar began providing transportation of oil and gas workers to offshore facilities. Building on its early success, the company added platform support vessels (PSVs) to its fleet. Cotemar’s first accommodation vessel, which offered food and other services to offshore personnel, was acquired in 1982. By 1992, the company started providing construction and maintenance services for offshore oil structures in Campeche Bay. As its presence in the industry grew, so did its fleet, which now operates more than 15 highly specialized semi-submersible platforms and vessels in the Gulf of Mexico.
Recently, Cotemar began a new venture, bidding for onshore contracts. Mexico’s energy commission awarded the company two production oil fields in the state of Veracruz. The company has currently tripled production on its first field, Cuichapa, and projects additional investments on the second, Paso de Oro.
