Lesson 16: Our 10 Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji
Guru Gobind Singh Ji was born in

Gobind Rai. Guru Gobind Singh Ji saw
that his father Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
was a very brave man. He was a great
warrior. He gave his life to defend the
rights of others to live in their religion. His head was separated from his
body. No Sikh had the courage to pick up Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s head or
body. They were scared that they may be killed by the Mughal ruler too.
Only when it was dark, two Sikhs picked Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s body.
Guru Gobind Singh Ji was sad to see this condition of the Sikhs. He wanted
Sikhs to be strong and courageous. He wanted them to stand out and be
seen. He did not want them to hide. So he decided to give them an identity
