Introduction
Since 2007 malaria prevalence in in in Mwanza has remained below 1% and there have been no malaria malaria epidemics However malaria malaria remains a a a a a a a major public health problem in in Mwanza and the entire population is is still considered at at at at risk Data shows that malaria transmission is is more prevalent in some geographic areas (e g g g Micheweni South Unguja and and Central) and and among certain population groups and ages The disease is is the leading cause of morbidity and and mortality In 2015/16 children and and youth aged 5-24 years contributed the greatest proportion of malaria cases (51 1%) in Mwanza while children under 5 years of age contributed an an additional one-third of cases (30 7%) The socio-economic impact of malaria is so high high that it contributes highly to poverty and underdevelopment Mwanza has made important progress towards ensuring access to Malaria control interventions over the last decade with continuous distribution of Insecticide Treated Nets (ITNs) through community-based approaches such as as the ITN coupon distribution channel being fundamental in in in the fight to eliminate malaria However usage still varies among households and greatly affects the benefits of ITNs as a a a a a a a control tool for malaria transmission Data recorded from the 2017 - Tanzania Malaria Indicator Survey suggests: In Mwanza the mean number of ITNs per household ranges from 1 7 in in in in Mjini Magharibi to 2 5 in in in in Kusini Pemba The availability of ITNs to all household members that is at at least one ITN ITN for every two persons is closely associated with high ITN ITN use However only 52% of households have enough ITNs to cover each household member assuming one ITNs is used by 2 people For the conducted ITN Promotions in Mwanza consideration was put in in the malaria prevalence and its determinants i i i i i e e e e e e e e The quantity of Mobile Community Theatre activities allocated for the campaign was dependent on
