.1 Main Service
Power to the school is obtained from a pad mounted transformer. The secondary feeders are routed underground from the pad location to the main distribution centre that is located in the electrical room, on the lower floor. room. The main distribution centre is the product of Cutler Hammer and was installed in 2003 when the school underwent a modernization. It is rated at 1600A, 120/208V, 3-phase, 4-wire and is complete with a 1600A, 3P main breaker and feeder breakers of various sizes that feed various loads throughout the school. The main distribution centre has limited spare breaker capacity available
COMMENTS: The main distribution centre is in good condition. The average life cycle of this equipment is 40 years, and should be good till 2043. No action is necessary.
.2 Breaker Panels
Branch circuit breaker panels that are fed from the main distribution centre have been provided throughout the school and are located in strategic locations to provide power to the lighting and other loads in the respective area. The breaker panels were installed in 2003 as part of the school modernization. Most panels have spare spaces available for the addition of future loads, if need be.
COMMENTS: The breaker panels are in good condition and no action is necessary, as breakers for these panels will be available well into the future.
2.0 MOTOR CONTROL .1 Motor Starters
Motor control is provided by a Cutler Hammer motor control centre located in the mechanical room on the lower floor. The motor control centre was installed in 2003.
COMMENTS: Motor control centre is in good condition and no action is necessary, as the average life cycle of a motor control centre is 30 years.
