ALBERTA EDUCATION PERFORMANCE MEASURES
Drop Out Rates
•Drop Out Rate is the percentage of students aged 14 to 18 years registered in the Alberta Kindergarten to Grade 12 sys- tem who drop out the following year, adjusted for attrition.
•A student who was in Alberta’s education system is consid- ered to have dropped out if:
•There is no evidence of their participation in the Alberta edu- cation system the following school year (including in Alberta post-secondary and apprenticeship programs)
•They did not complete high school (see high school comple- tion measure for details).
