I felt unsatisfied with the first series of tondi and decided to create a second series with a more graphic quality. I seek inspiration in Virginia Verran’s painting style.
Sketches on IPad (Procreate)
I was unsure how to translate my images into a style akin to Verran’s, whilst retaining the main outlines of the pictures and maintaining the general form of the object depicted. I, therefore, used Procreate on IPad to develop my concept. Procreate uses a system of layers (similarly to photoshop) rendering addition or excluding elements very simple.

In term of colour scheme, I decided to preserve Verran’s albeit with some minor various: I added some desaturated
shades.
I used a mixture of mark-making techniques such as stippling, short marks, long marks, lines and patterns, some of which are recurrent in Verran’s work mixed with new ones.
