- Before commencing working, I spent some time studying the previous series to determine the best way forward to re- create the vibrancy of the colours obtained in the series called ‘Ahmed’. I became more aware of the importance of colours to create a strong contrast in light / shadow. Key learning: includes white area, use bright light colours and duller mid-tones for the darker shades a mixture of bright and dull colours worked well. I implemented my learning for the last series.
- The first two prints were obtained using a wet-on wet technique and a wet-on-dry + soak technique used before.
- The third print used an excessive amount of white spirit for the soak, which resulted in strong paint runs.
