Let it SHINE
Local advocate for ending period poverty, Macy O’Shaughnessy, has recently head up a community action group in Skelmersdale named SHINE. The aim of SHINE is to help tackle period poverty and promote an environment where individuals can feel safe to ask anywhere for sanitary products when needed. The organisation believes that sanitary products should be an essential of any first aid kit, just as plasters would be, and they should be able to be accessed for free at the doctors. SHINE is currently looking for local businesses and establishments that would be willing and interested in supplying free sanitary products to the public. To get involved, follow their page @Shine uk
