  Santa Finder
For many, Christmas last year ended up a bit of a flop! With covid causing havoc, it meant a lot of kids were left stuck in their homes without the usual Christmas cheer! So, this year, we thought we’d give the spotlight to Santa and tell you exactly where you can find him this Christmas! We have also pulled together some fun facts about him to impress your friends with!
   Where Can You Visit Santa?
- Santa Camp! The Wayfarer – Parbold. From Friday the 3rd December and throughout!
- Farmer Teds, Ormskirk – From 24th November onwards.
- Applecast Farm, Newburgh on December 20th, where he’ll be making a visit to a fun disco night!
- Lunch with Santa at Wrightington Country Club from 4th December.
- Holland Hall at the Christmas Party Night, Skelmersdale, on the 3rd of December.
 • Santa is based on Saint Nicholas, who lived over 1500 years ago. Reportedly, he would give gifts of coins to poor children by dropping them through windows, or down stove chimneys, giving birth to the legend of Santa Claus. If this is true, then Santa is from Turkey!
• Did you know Santa’s suit used to be green? Throughout the Victorian era, he sported an emerald coat, but when Coca Cola changed it to red for one of their adverts, it seems that Santa liked it better, and now the change is permanent.
• As we know, Santa’s home is in the North Pole. That means that he lives exactly 2,518.28 miles from Skelmersdale!
• Santa’s reindeer are thought to be some of the fastest animals on the planet - in order to visit every child in the world, he’d have to travel 1,367 miles a second if he wants to be on time! Of course, regular reindeer are not so fast, it’s the magic Santa sprinkles on Christmas eve that gives them this super power!
• It is said that Santa appears different in many countries in Europe. In the Netherlands, he is thought to ride a white horse. In countries like Germany and Austria, Santa is thought to be female (does he send Mrs Clause? Who Knows!). In Skandinavia, Santa is a talking goat and strangest of all, in the Catalonia region of Spain, Santa is a log with a face, which supposedly poops the presents out!
