I taught high school manual training. Woodworking has remained a hobby. I’ve made several pieces of walnut furniture which re- main in use in my home over 60 years later. Another hobby of mine is photography. I started taking and printing pictures when I was in high school. I was photographic editor of the IWC college yearbook and have taken thousands of pictures and slides. Many of these were taken while enjoying another
hobby – that of traveling. I’ve visited all 50 states, nine of Canada’s 12 prov- inces, and seen or visited 46 countries in five continents – from Australia and New Zealand to Poland and Turkey. My most recent trip was a cruise around the tip of South America.
I’ve had a full and interesting life – with a wife, two children and six grandchildren. I recently started another hobby – writing poetry. I wrote my first poem in January 15, 2006 and have written over 150 since then. (No love or sentimental ones.) I like to write about my early childhood antics, teaching, outer space, letters to Santa, etc. Whatever touches my fancy. I enjoy putting a twist at the end. I close with...
