HOMELESSNESS SUPPORT SERVICES
Redwood Community Services began providing homeless services in 1999, when piloting
a transitional housing program for transitional age youth. Since then RCS has expanded
homelessness services to provide housing navigation services, an emergency shelter,
2020 Board of Directors
day resource center, and permanent housing resources. RCS provides support to those facing and living in a housing crisis with a compassionate, person-centered, Housing First approach. This means focusing first and foremost on housing needs and providing support to people who are navigating barriers to housing. RCS is an active member of the Mendocino County Homelessness Services Continuum of Care (MCHSCoC), working with community partners to ensure services are coordinated and effective.

"Seeing when guests finally move into their new place... sometimes they're a little afraid but, that usually subsides and then there's a sparkle I see in their spirit. It's these moments, when someone gets a home and is safe, that keep me fighting for housing!"
