Oregon Quarter Horse Association Board of Directors and I would like to welcome you to beautiful Central Point,homeoftheOregonSummerClassicHorseShowandOQHAOpenFuturities. TheOregonSummer Classic show was named as a top ten AQHA show in the Nation for 2016!
This years’ Summer Classic promises to be better than ever! With 8 judges (4 judges per show day, per arena) this already will be a packed 4 days of showing. Along with the great selection of classes and futurities in thisyear’sschedule,youshouldbeabletofindaclassforanyone. ThisisallinadditiontotheNSBAdual approvedclasses. ThisshowhasproventobeaWorldClassShowandOQHAworkshardtocontinuethat tradition.
We have listened to you, our constituency, and have made the following changes. The new 4 day show schedule with 4 judges per class each day will shorten the length of the show by 2 days while maintain- ing the same number of judges. By making this change, we hope to help cut some exhibitor expenses with thesamebenefits. AnewFLATFEEwasintroducedat$10.00perjudge,anyhorse,anyrider,anyAQHA division*cattlefeesandNSBAclassesnotincludedinflatfee. ThenewAQHAVersatilityRanchHorseclass- eshavebeenaddedtotheshow. Thisshouldbeapositivebenefitforallparticipatingriders.Thankyoufor your valued input.
OQHA has a variety of fun, family activities planned to ensure your show and the week you spend with us is an unforgettable experience. The Tuesday night prior to the start of the show, we host a free exhibitor’s Welcome Hors D’oeuvre Reception held on the lawn by the main arena. On Thursday, OQHA hosts our Annual Exhibitor Bar B Que guaranteed to fill you up while you watch our fun activities and special event classes held that evening. For several years this has been an evening not to miss!
On Friday (our day off from showing) there are several choices of activities designed to help you enjoy our region & your free time. You can join in the fun with a ride down the Rogue River on a jet boat, go river rafting, take a fishing trip on the Rogue River, go wine tasting or take a trip to Crater Lake National Park. If you have never taken this trip, be prepared for the time of your life.
We would like to thank our wonderful sponsors who have come through again to ensure that no one gives better awards than the Oregon Summer Classic. For this year we are awarding Scottsdale Western World saddles, Caliente Saddle Shop saddles, custom made buckles for every circuit class winner, reserve class award jackets and over $6,000.00 in daily class awards.
