Keiji Shinohara was born and raised in Osaka, Japan. After ten years as an apprentice to the reno Uesugi in Kyoto, he became a master printmaker and moved to the United States. He is currentl making at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, and has been a visiting artist at over on and thirty solo shows.
