Sundaresan envisions his
artwork as an invitation
to openness: to see things from new and different
vantage points, patterns in nature, and how all is interwoven.
He begins by painting two acrylic can- vases, then turns the canvases over
to draw random lines across them, as well as to add a sphere. He cuts each canvas into strips of various widths and curves, then weaves them together into a tight pattern. Once the work is completed, he turns over the nished weaving to reveal his “surprise.”
Sundaresan works in house restoration and re nishing, but when he comes home, he goes out to his studio and paints until the wee hours of the night. He prefers to paint with his hands and ngers, using a brush occasionally.
