“Often the immediacy of my process
demands that I paint with my hands,
in gestures practiced for over two de- cades. I work wet on wet, blending colors directly on the canvas, and the painting births its own uni- verse. Sometimes I am pulled to the floor to create, using washes of water or flow release to express the fluidity of our existence. It is a fluidity I struggle to embrace in my personal life, but whole-heartedly welcome in my creative process.”
