Ranchers

2225 – Martin Bouchard
Corey set out to find a place that maintained an identity that could be uniquely defined as the American West.
He found it in the great plains of Dakotas among the ranch- ers, the progeny of the men and women who left safe havens in the East to build better lives in the West, and his images eventually were published in Rancher: Photographs of the American West. While at a book signing and accompanying exhibit for the book, at The Dahl Art Center in Rapid City, SD, Corey asked the curator if he could photograph those ranchers who attended the event: “I wanted to isolate the subjects from their environment in this series focusing only upon them. The cool-toned conference room wall and north light exposure were perfect for my intention.”
All Rancher images are archival inkjet prints on Photo Baryta paper, 24'' x 24'', or 36'' x 36''.
