“While I began my career with welding metal, I
now use spray paint to outline
the metals. I also pick up things from nature to spray paint onto paper, making them subjects of
universality or at least, I hope, images that is memorable. The metals I collect from my welding store down the block where they know me well and allow me into the back welding room. I pay for scraps to make circles, triangles, squares, and all geometric shapes while working out spatial relations and controlling the spray paint, touching up with gouache paints as needed.”
