Stemming from the various meditations and interactions with the built environment during the pandemic,
Anderson composed digital ren- derings of arbitrary, nonfunction- al architectural spaces—envision- ing oblique, fleeting moments of both confinement and liberation. The images are fully realized using 3D modeling software
and are not based on any exist- ing photographs or real spaces. The perspectives include vari- ous models of clear and colored Lucite panels layered over one another with elements colliding within the overlapping environ- ments. The scenes are further enhanced by areas of smoke, im- plying some type of explosion or disaster. Mounted on Dibond and floated on the wall, the irregular shapes of each work often follow the forms of the simulated trans- parent panels, and some images are presented across multiple surfaces that are intentionally installed to add to the physical presence of the work.
