Cantrell was elected an artist member of the Silvermine Guild of Artists in 1998. She has been painting and making prints full-time for the past twenty years, most recently large-scale wood- cuts and landscape paintings in an expressionist gestural style. An indelible very early inspiration was Richard Diebenkorn and the Bay Area expres- sionist realist painters, whom she first saw in a Horizon magazine when she was thirteen years old. She has lived along the Northeast coast for the past fifty years, currently in Old Lyme, CT.
