 Stuart is a queer feminist contemporary art- ist who, as a teenager, studied antomical drawing and fine art at the Fashion Institute of Technology and at the Arts Students League in New York City. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from Hunter College, and an MFA in Fine Art from Brooklyn College, with
a strong interest in feminist studies, ecofemi- nism, and feminist art. In Mexico City, Guana- juato, and the Yucatan peninsula, she studied Mayan and Aztec art and history. At a Sachaqa Art Residency in Tarapoto Peru near the Ama- zon Rainforest, she learned indigenous meth- ods of building; making pottery, paper, and pigments, as well as sustainable living. Stuart has showcased her work nationally, including a solo exhibit at the Box Factory Gallery, NYC, and participated in Beyond Gender in Chelsea, NYC, at Relational Space gallery (hosted by Ceres Gallery).
