“My aim is to convey the complexities we experience in our bodies, including weight, consequence, stress, fertility, relationships, and age. In this work, one can see
forms being strained, pulled, stressed, and burdened, all while physical markers of time con- vey its passage. Moving through life in a body is physically taxing. As I have found through experience, we frequently push our bodies to their breaking points and suffer medical consequences as a result. Our days are regularly stretched much too thin and even though a considerable amount of the stress affects our mental energy, the burden can carry over to our bodies as well. In a woman’s body specifically, we experience intense fluctuation as we stretch, compress, leak, and adorn ourselves.”
