“These works, part of an ongoing series of urban portraits
with a working title Faces of the city, serve as a kind of research of different aspects of ur- banities reflected through intertwined images of humans and urban landscapes; a searching for the illusive identity of both humans and the metropolis. They are a questioning of the human role versus the metropolis—the small- ness of man is, in fact, subordinated to the greatness of cities, sometimes even lost. I am exploring here, the role of each, since both are vying for their reputation and position in the world, as competing identities. After all, the metropolis is work of a man.”
