Provan earned a BA in Painting and Architec- ture from Yale University and, later, a MA
in Painting from the Royal College of Art in London. His work has been exhibited in galler- ies and museums throughout the United States. In 1988 he was the recipient of the a Pollock- Krasner Award and in 1995, completed a major sculpture installation for the New York City sub- way. Currently he lives in the New York Hudson Valley with his wife and two children.
