Knobloch’s paintings, largely
drawn from imagery
in and around his native Dresden and Berlin, Germa- ny, document post-industrial structures and surround- ings, in explorations of origin and consequence. Knobloch is a graduate of Hochschule für Bildende Künste Dresden, where he studied under Ralf Ker- bach, and he was the 2003 recipient of the Vattenfall Europe award. In 2005, he was a German representa- tive artist at the Prague Biennale. Knobloch is repre- sented by Gaa Gallery, Wellfleet, MA; Galerie Gebr;
Lehmann, Dresden/Berlin; and Wilkinson Gallery, London; his work is included in numerous public and private collections, in- cluding Kunstmuseum Dieselkraftwerk Cottbus; Galerie Neue Meister; Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden; Städtische Galerie Dresden; the Hall Collection; the Zabludowicz Collec- tion; the collection of Sir Elton John and David Furnish; and the Rubell Family Collection.
