Dust is the room
falling in on itself
like the way the sun loses an inch shrinking every millennium.

a fixture bolted
in mind’s sky.
We enter eternity in small ways. Cat fur tumbles over the carpet like desert weed.
Nail parings drop; new moons cross hardwood.
On the rim of a jade plant bowl leaves pause.
