“The goal of my work is to transform ordinary
objects into extraordinary
scenes. Night reveals the black canvas that I paint with colored lights, manipulating the mundane reality of the scene before my lens. With my camera I capture an instant
of radiant light that does not stay past its moment. Over time I have built a universe of my own, amassing a collection of frozen moments. Photography is tradi- tionally tied to reality, but by using light and color in an unfamiliar way, I alter reality, calling into question what the viewer is actually seeing. The images I photograph have a surreal quality that simultaneously confuse and entice. I invite my viewer to explore this hidden world of radiant unfamiliarity.”
