“Fabrics and textiles are layers that can offer modifications and transformations, simulate
protection, and provide concealment.
Organs and body parts are concepts that inspire my work. I produce my work by combining hand-crocheted fabrics with other utilitarian materials. I use textiles of natural and synthetic fibers, including cotton twine, hemp cord, and polypropylene rope thread- ed and fastened with nylon zip-cable ties. My works generate from the transformative qualities of these func- tional materials. With these utilitarian materials, I explore and envision the concepts of organ, pelt, and tail.”
