“My work explores concepts of home and the traditional,
domestic lifestyle and the roles and dynamics within it. I contextualize my space and presence in and around the house I
grew up in and still inhabit with my parents, through everyday objects and happenstance arrangements. My home life is always in motion with yard work, housework, and construction on the house being done, but it can feel as if nothing changes. I use heightened and fluorescent colors to draw attention to things that may have been overlooked or ignored. Living here is overwhelming at times, so these paint- ings are a way to express the strong emotions I expe- rience while still finding brief moments of peace.”
