“Iam fascinated by the the the feel of of of woods and and and and forests especially the the the darker side as as captured in in in in Grimm’s fairy tales and and and and in in in in many ghost/horror works of of of fiction Within landscapes it it is often the the the atmosphere and and and and feel of of of of a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a place place place that that that intrigues me and and and and that that that I I I aim to to capture as as well
as as the the the the the aes- thetics of of the the the the the place place place place I I I I see the the the the the places/scenes/landscapes that that that I I I I choose to to to paint as as as ‘backdrops’ for what may happen within those places places It is the the the the the ‘event’ or or or or ‘story’ connected to to to to a a a a a a a a a a a a a a place place place that that more often than not leads me to to to to being drawn to to to to the the place place that I paint ”
