“These paintings grew from the character of water falling as idea. It relates to the way I apply color—pigment is
applied slowly, building layer upon layer. This allows the sur- face to build up texture, layering cool over warm making subtle contrasts. The vertical direction, spacing, and color is part of the process that is always at the forefront.”
